As happens to all forums, this one also is targeted by spammers.
Here are a few simple rules to follow to help our members avoid problems:
When a new user joins our forum and places a website link and a ICQ number on his profile, DO NOT CLICK on them if you aren't sure that he/she is a real member and is legitimate.
Often spammers do not write posts on forums but only place these links hoping that other users will click on them. These links often have viruses, spywares and other things that could damage your computer. Then these websites are often links to other websites about drugs, illegal medicines, porn and so on. So please beware of them and be careful, friends!
Then I've read on our admin assistance forum that these spammers sometimes write private messages to others members adding a link and inviting people to click on them. Don't believe these messages, don't respond to them, and do not click on their links!If this happens to you, please contact any of our moderators' team: Rosie, Carole, Kim and Goganga.

Di seguito ci sono alcune semplici regole da seguire per aiutare i nostri membri circa questi problemi:
Quando un nuovo utente si iscrive al nostro forum e mette un link ed un numero di ICQ nel suo profilo, NON CLICCATE SU ESSI se non siete sicuri che sia un vero nuovo utente.
Spesso gli spammers non scrivo posts sui forum, ma mettono questi link sperando che gli altri utenti clikkino su essi. Questi link spesso possono avere virus, spywares (spie che si installano nel pc) ed altre cose che potrebbero danneggiare il vostro computer.
Spesso, inoltre, questi link sono diretti a siti web che trattano di droghe, medicine illegali, porno ed altro. Chiediamo quindi la vostra massima attenzione e cautela, amici!
Nel supporto online riservato agli amministratori dei forum, è emerso che gli spammers spesso scrivono anche dei messaggi privati agli altri utenti aggiungendo un link ed invitando a clikkarlo. Non credete a questi messaggi, non rispondere e non clikkate sui link!Se vi dovesse capitare di ricevere un messaggio sospetto di questo genere, contattate i moderatori del forum, ovvero: Rosie, Carole, Kim o Goganga.

It's really strange.
I inadvertently opened one of the spam messages from Solemar's sight minutes before she sent out the warning message.
Spam software started downloading and when I tried to stop it my screen froze. It's all fivxed now but one thing I thought was weird was that I have been popping in on the AMICI board and each time I check there are NO NEW MESSAGES.
I just restored my system and now see a cart full of them. I wondered where everyone disappeared to ....
There's been hardly anyone around at all today Tori.... I've been home all day suffering from an upset stomach, so have been able to check out the board fairly often plus catch up with some other tasks on the pc. There have been a couple of 'guests' hovering around on and off and one 'member' on line but hidden. But what time are you talking about when there seemed to be no messages?

Sorry Carole - I explained myself incorrectly, I guess.
The problem was with my pc. Evidently, at some point it erased my automatic sign-in info ......... therefore, each time I popped in none of the little icons on the left were highlighted informing me of new posts.

@ Carole: I hope you feel better now. I had an upset stomach last week and perhaps it was due to a virus (it wasn't a pc virus... it was a "human" one!)
