That happened to me when I went to the British Isles when I was 16. I was speaking like a Londoner within a day, and getting on my group's nerves.

I just visited Madonna's site .... I like her music and there is still a lot I respect about her (given that she was 5 when her mother died, so I relate to her on that level, even her attention-getting antics) ..... but dammit she's so self-absorbed and self-centered -- she's too big. And she's building more big-ness onto her bigness and for what?? More money? More houses? More cars? More fame? How much is enough for one person?

I tried to get some info on projects or charity work or anything good that she might be doing with her riches and influence .... mostly it was all about her. I'd like to know about her children and "outside interests". Nothing.

THAT irritates me something fierce. I have no use or time or interest in people who use what they have, only for themselves. So much good could be done with what she has ...... she seems to just build herself up even more.

She goes to the bathroom just like everyone else does ..... she's not God. But she protrays herself like she's better than everyone else. That's wrong.

Madonna is a cheap trick. She's vulgar. She is excessive in everything she does especially if it gets attention that puts the spot light on her. It's a good thing she doesn't need to rely on people like me to make money off of. I don't like anything about her.

A big problem is that she's forgotten - actually, trampled on - where she came from -- a broke, hungry dancer in New York surviving on popcorn and a few apples while trying to find the right people to perform for to make a name for herself. Then she learned the art of "continuous reinvention" in an attempt to keep herself fresh .... now she's 48 (I was shocked to read that she was "pushing 50"), still doing her punishing Ashtanga Yoga routine (most likely), and still trying to do the stunts and body work of her 20s and 30s ..... (I followed Madonna's life and career for a long time before I had my own kids and no longer had time to.)

All of us get old and pay Gravity eventually .... she will be no different, but I'm sure she'll have another "reinvention" of herself by then .... trouble is what will become of her children? All the money in the world cannot replace a mother (imo), and no nanny is a stand-in for a mother's presence and availability in her children's lives.

The damage Madonna has done to herself and her soul, she will answer to God for. I feel for her children and the example she has set for them .....

I see Madonna going the way of Cher................continually getting plastic surgery done in order to stay youthful looking until she finally fades from the public's mind.

It would seem that she'd think a little bit about her vulgar publicity stunts and what it will do to her children later on. Her children probably love their nanny more and look at her as their true mother.

I was too jealous to let anyone else raise my children. I wanted them to know only me as their mother and care provider. I brought them into this world and felt it was my responsibility to love and nurture them, not someone else's.

I agree with you Rose, I would be very jealous if My ex-wife would get re-married and another man tried to replace me as the father to my son. I know this would be impossible for any man to do, but I would be upset.
That would make me feel like I was less of a man. I think that is how a woman would feel also like she was a bad mother and couldn't care for her own children.

There are so many people who have nannies taking care of their children or au pairs as they are called.

I've have read one too many stories about the neglect kids can suffer from these substitute "moms."

I think if a woman does remarry she should make it clear to the new husband that he is not a replacement for her childs biological father unless that father was truly a bad person.

Every time I see something new and outrageous that Cher or Madonna does I just have to shake my head. These two "broads" are boring and stupid.
