Italy was hit by really bad weather lately.
We had lots of snow and rain, some rivers flooded and many cities were awash.

Here's a summary about what happened yesterday:
"Romans took to the rooftops, Venice was plunged under its deepest water this year, and a town near Pisa was evacuated as rainstorms wreaked havoc and snow forced the closure of schools across Italy Friday".

.

Then: "A 30-meter portion of medieval wall surrounding the town of Volterra, in the province of Pisa, collapsed Friday as a result of the unabated torrential rain and storms that have engulfed Italy". LINK:

Not a good begin of this first part of the new year… Confused

Hi Simy
We have been having a similar situation over here in the UK.
Some places in England have had it really bad it started just before Christmas and its not over yet.
So far where I am although it's been high winds heavy rain and cold we've been lucky and I feel so sorry for all the people who are suffering because of this freak weather that seems to be happening all over the world just now.
Hope you are OK where you are.
I'm thinking about you
take care.
Emmy

Hi Emmy,
I've read about what happened to UK. Weather is getting crazy lately. Confused Hope you are okay.

It's raining almost every day here, and it's not over yet: next week we're going to have more rain. We're tired of it!!! We want the sun!!! protesta

Hi Simy Its more down south that has been getting the worst of the weather. one man was talking on the news today and in his house the water is waist deep as is the other houses in that area. It must be a living nightmare for those poor people who have lost everything. Here where I am we have had heavy rain and and high winds but so far everything is ok but it is very cold too. We had a little snow the other day but it didn't last thank goodness. Up north they have had quite a bit of snow and some roads were closed for a time. hope you are OK
Roll on Spring

The weather is crazy all over the World. I saw so many pictures of flooding in the UK and Italy that I couldn't believe my eyes. I saw places that I visited in: Venice, Florence and Rome that were under water recently. In the US we are having areal cold and snowy old fashioned Winter. We have been having snow one or two days a week for many weeks now. More later.

We have had the worst winter I can remember in years! Christmas week we had an ice storm which left over 300,000 people without any power. My parents were hit hard - no power or heat for a week. We had X-mas Eve dinner in the dark using a generator because my dad refused to leave his house! And talk about snow! Simy it was worse than the night in Dec you came here - the whole Nov-Mar season was like that.

You want to talk crazy? We were out in T-shirts for the last few days and today we have had hail, freezing rain, snow and wind gusts that have blown roofs off.

And the temperature is still dropping! How's that for mid April?

I like winter and snow but just for a couple of weeks. But five months like that is a nightmare!

We had some good weather here lately, but now it's supposed to be chilly and rainy during Easter Holidays. But I think that is going to be warmer than there in Canada...

Today should be ok. We lost power again on Tuesday night after the snow and hail. One of the grids blew and knocked out power and phone lines, internet and cell service to over 100,000 homes.

This weekend is supposed to be nice but you're right - probably not as nice as in Italy.

We had a Winter like Nuccia did. Glad it is Spring and getting warmer with rain and not snow. Buona Pasqua to all!
