Just to let you all know Bengy seems to be responding to the medication and I take him back to the vet tomorrow morning to get checked out again. One thing for sure is the diruretics he's on are definately working I'm beginning to think I'll need invent 'baby pampers' for small dogs- wouldnt be surprised if they are not already on the market Very Happy It would save me a lot of work. I have to make sure he goes out at very regular intervals so he doesnt have small 'accidents'
Just knew I should have trained them to use the inside toilet (or had one installed especially for them Think ) it would have saved me lots of bother now wc Big Laugh

Guess I spoke too soon I was at the vet today for Bengy's check up and I was told his heart is very bad and because he has started drinking a lot again he has to go back in 3 weeks for another test for the cushing's syndrome. I was told today he is really very ill although sometimes he looks OK and when I asked does that mean that there is a high probability Bengy could die suddenly at any time and the answer was Yes!
So from now he will get everything he wants and likes to eat and if it is possible to spoil him any more than he gets just now I'll be doing it.
But no one can really say what and when a thing will happen and Bengy may prove the prediction wrong. (Fingers crossed) I guess my vet was just preparing me for the worst because he knows how I feel about the dogs.

Emmy,

Just dropped by to check on Bengy and see how he was doing. He might be just thirsty after the winter break - the cats have been drinking a lot also - I'm using filtered water now.

There are pull-up type 'diapers' for dogs - I saw some at Petco and my cousin had them on her dog for a while.

Hope he will be feeling well and you also.

Dave [/b]

Thanks Dave I'll have a search on the internet although today Bengy has been acting quite normal and he's even gone down the steps at the back door by himself and he has lost a bit of weight which is all to the good (I've been cuting down a bit on the prtions I give them because maybe if he lost a bit of weihgt it may help him--me too if I could follow the the same example Silenced

Just checked the Petco website, Emmy, and they have several brands and sizes of 'diapers' under "Dog - Housebreaking and Incontinence" Housebreaking Dogs - Male Dog. Ms. Pup accessories further on, and with print decoration.

The prices range from 7.97 to 50 dollars depending on the size and quantity.

Still seems strange to have these for dogs...and the names:

Four Paws Wee-Wee Pads ---- disposable also. Anyone wash these things?

Cozy Pet Pet Panties & Pads

Simple Solutions PUP'sters Disposable Diapers in Princess Prints

Too funny about Petco! 'll have to tell this to my wife as our older cat has been missing his litter box more often than not.

Hi Everyone
Just found a UK web site for the above items and it also icluded a 'Chastity belt ' for female dogs for during the time they would be in 'heat' Silenced
My son had just bought another dog (female) and he already has a Jack Russel male dog so I gave him the web site. His reply: No dog of mine will go out for a walk wearing anything like that!!! She'll just be kept on a leash!!
As for Bengy so long as i'm in the house he's ok the problem with Bengy is he just goes and stands at the door and looks, as though I should be able to mind read from a distance, he doesnt bark but lately Gizzy has started to bark if he sees Bengy standing at the door - dont know if this is a coincidence or not. Its during night time thats the problem as Bengy gets another diuretic with his evening meal so if I happen to wake up during the night ( be it 3/5am now I laways get up and let them both out.) But as well as that I put down a plastic mat and some newspapars on top of it close to the door just in case. But so long as he's with me I'll just keep going. (I will think about ordering something for Bengy if he becomes completly incontinent)
How things are going just now if those two dogs of mine had had their own bank account they would have been bankrupt by now Whistle
Emmy Very Happy
