Well my new pond is in Dancing Dancing Dancing
and it looks really nice, but I think I'll need to get some more slate - that's what I get for 'putting the cart before the horse' should have had the pond in before I put down the ground cover sheeting and slate down. d'oh!

I had a solar fountain from ages ago but it is a bit too large for this pond but it still looks nice only problem is I have to keep a check on the water level in the pond when its working at full capacity with the 'fountain' part attached to it so I removed the fountain part and the water now just 'gurgles' from the base looks nice too and at least meantime I think this will keep the water from becoming stagnant. I had ordered a solar pond aerator but I've had to return it because it was damaged but I think that will be even better than the solar fountain. I've also got 'my eye' on a little frog that sits on the edge of a pond and squirts water into the pond this has a solar panel too - it just may find its way to my garden Whistle Shhh

And for the grandchildren the pond has just acquired two very small male and female mallard ducks Dancing Dancing Dancing if they sit still long enough I'll take a photograph and post it. Very Happy Very Happy

Isnt it just great to have grandchildren to use as an excuse Dancing Dancing

Emmy Very Happy Very Happy

Thanks! We are getting some rain and a few of the forecasts are for too much rain to come as we don't really need floods.

We've had heavy rain here today - definately dont need to water the garden today -probably the only bright bit about today - I got soaked too this morning - jumped into the car, which is at the back door, and didnt realise until I was at the next village that my umbrella wasnt in the car - I'd forgotten I had taken it into the house after I had the dogs out earlier on.

I took Anne's car to the dealer for service Wednesday afternoon. She had the A/C set so high I had to shut it nearly off because I got was pretty wet from the constant drizzle we had. I hope you are okay.

Today has been odd!! At one point you'd have thought I had been IN that pond.
I had to move some of the plants from the greenhouse and this morning it was COLD d'oh! Anxious at least I felt cold.
There was a fine drizzle of rain which believe it or not I didnt seem to be aware of as I was slowly going back and forth and I had my fleece on.
But when I got back into the house my fleece was soaked through and I was so cold I had to put the CH on for a short while.
That's twice I've had an outdoor shower now Think but I dont recommend you trying this Silenced
Tonight we've had a rumble of thunder and some heavy downpours but right now the sun is out but the sky is still heavy & looks like we'll be in for some more rain later on tonight.

I heard that Scotland was getting some real heavy rain. I hope that you don't get any flooding. Looks like you will not have to get out the long garden hose for a bit now.

I'm lucky where my house is because my driveway slopes down towards the road (and I do have a long driveway) so even if the road gets flooded there's no way it will get into the house but my s-i-l is the opposite where she lives they have to be on the look out every time there is a very heavy downpour because it floods very quickly- horrible feeling when that happens.

The only place I have to remember to water is inside the greenhouse where I have 2 lemon trees, an orange tree, strawberries, parsley and some tomato plants - but I'm very disappointed with the tomato plants this year hardly any tomatoes on the plants, they're a different variety from last year.
So next year instead of buying plants I'll grow them from seed instead. Meantime I guess tomatoes will be from the supermarket not the greenhouse.
