My family are always taking care of their and their children's health. Before they allow their kids to get juice/sweets etc they always read the ingredients first.
Shame on me if it looks good and tastes good that's what matters to me.

Son came up to visit tonight and brought my sister-in-law and the kids with him.
This is what he bought for us so I wouldnt have to cook anything when they came.
Fried Fish, Fried smoked sausage, Fried white pudding and Fried Chips !!

( Thank goodness the fish/chip shop didnt put a sticker on the order with the ingredients lsited - - Must say we all really enjoyed the treat
Drool Drool Drool )
Emmy
ps Maybe its because we used to have a fish/chop shop ourselves at one time for once he didnt stop to think!!!!

Actually Simy its true what you have said and I think Italian cooking is much healthier I use virgin olive oil all the time even if I'm frying Chips /Eggs/Bacon etc. I never use fat or lard when cooking.
I do use butter when baking and a tiny bit lard when baking bread.
And although I have been overweight for most of my adult life my cholestral (Spelling?)has always been OK and other people I know who are not overweight (and I know they definately dont use olive oil) have to get medication because their cholestral levels are very high.
If only I could stop baking goodies for the grandchildren and stop going near the shelves in the supermarket that has the chocolate and sweets
Anxious Anxious Silenced Silenced
But I've been VERY GOOD lately.

Of course virgin olive oil is better than butter or lard for our health, but my dietician used to say to use only a few of it just the same...
