Hello!,

I am a new member, find this forum very interesting with many topics I enjoy.

I have sent a pm to Nuccia - I have read some of her postings on Italgen and found we have a few things in common, is she still active in this forum? A see that you are!

Are you really in Liguria? Made me remember the "pesce in cartoccio" I ate there - fantastic!

I was in Italy this last fall, this time only in Rome and Calabria, and will be returning by late April-May, and hope not too crowded.

I know Italy well, love all, from little paesine in the mountains to the seas and even noisy Rome!

I write to Italgen - put my little 2 cents - no good response! I do genealogy, but just for my publications, do not use the microfilms, etc.

Beginning to see the value of those sources , but all I can use are primary sources - I am really a topo d'archivio!

Should I stay here? Should I continue at Itangen? Please, pretty please...

Abbracci,
Aether

Very Happy Very Happy book book

Hello Aether, welcome! Welcome
I'm very happy to know you like this forum!

Yes, I'm in Liguria, I live and was born in Savona. I also do like the "pesce in cartoccio". Fish is very good here. Hope you'll come back in Liguria soon and maybe we can eat some spaghetti with seafood together, eh? Wink

Nuccia is still active here, but maybe she's busy and didn't see your PM yet. I'm going to tell her to read your PM and this post.

I don't know Italgen, as I don't have so much practice about genealogy. I'm sorry to hear that you didn't get good response there.
But you can be sure that you will have good responses here. At most you can read my replies in broken English... Embarassed Mr. Green

Again, welcome on Amici!

Un abbraccio!
Ciao!

Hi Aether!

I'm sorry I didn't reply to your PM but as Simy said, I have been busy. Toronto has been hit with a lot of snow so most of me spare time has been spent shoveling.. Brick wall

I'm sorry you haven't had a good experience on IG. I think you will like it here. The people are very nice.

I will reply to your PM in a minute.

Goganga, Simy, Simona - ???
First of all a belated Happy Birthday! Also, a Happy Valentine's Day!

Thanks so very much for you kind reply - I had been a little goofy, too much snow, work waiting for me elsewhere, and nothing to do but waiting for things to improve.
Due to some problem with a power source I had no computer, no international phone for most of the day!
But promise to be more patient, I really admire Nuccia's work! I do some genealogical work but just geared to whatever subject I am working on.
I just go to archives and private collections and dig and dig for what I need.
I really not sure if I should put my 2 cents at Italgen. Is it necessary to be a Mormon? And work with the LDS sources? Alien to me!
Many times I see questions I can answer and have to bud in- not selling info. and hope not depriving anybody from their share...
Many times I know the right answer... and xzxy ... that is me...
Now, who is in that photo dancing? Tarantella?
Will try to be more concise in the future!
Italgen has some super people! As Amici!
Abbracci cari!
Aether Very Happy

You admire my work? I should be admiring your work! Its easy to look things up online but what you do takes skill..and patience and dedication.

You'll have to teach me ..I have yet to visit the archives although its on my list of things to do.

Researching at the FHC is something like what you do. No, you don't have to be a Mormon to research there.

I told you you would like it here!
