Little updates .............
I am now the team leader for the STARS team for the Autism Walk in September 2008. We are accepting donations and recruiting people to walk with/for us.
I will be the contact person for my parish for the Pro Life Union's Holy Week of Prayer in March, for a prayer vigil at an abortion clinic near my neighborhood (NOT a protest, just a prayer vigil).
We're (STARS) helping a new t-ball Challenger division get started that is for children with special needs - different sports league, but same goals.
I'll be receiving information soon on a seminar series called Families First, which trains parents as trainers and coordinators to work within early intervention programs, as part of Temple University's Institute on Disabilities.
My little one will start a special-ed preschool in two weeks where she will have OT and speech therapy as part of her education - 3 days a week, 3 hours per day. The school staff is hoping that I can help revive their Parent Advisory Board, and also help gather the parents for monthly classes for updates on their special ed programs and the crossover with home and school approaches. [The IEP meeting was this past Friday, and it went very well. My little girl will be in good hands, and I am excited about the possibilities with the school, and also with the agency that works with the school.]
We're finishing up with our Girl Scout cookie sales (9yo is a Brownie Girl Scout), and my 9yo will be going on her first "Beach Jam" trip in mid-May -- first time she's ever been away from home without us for 3 days! We sold a lot of cookies and did a cookie booth at a supermarket ...
Husband may be starting night school soon -- if he ever makes up his mind!
Me .... no school for me yet .... but training seminars for parents, conferences, events and agency sessions -- yes.
