Just a note that ancestry.com has updated their New York Immigration lists to include all records up to 1957.

The site is offering a free promo until November 30th so if you want to look it over, nows a good time.

No Problem, Marisa,

Let me know if you find anything useful...I found my Dad's and uncle's manifests. Should have seen Dad's face when I showed him..pretty cool.

This is great - thanks for letting me know about it. I've found lots of manifests for my 'bootlegger' Scots great great grandfather!

Now to ask for a favour in a cheeky way! Pretty please Nuccia, if you still have ancestry, could you look up 'Leana Faccenda' on the 1930 US census. She is living with her husband Filliberto. I need to know if she is in Chicago, and if the street address includes the word Racine anywhere.

Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!

There is no street on this form but the sheet before it and after it says Roscoe St which actually crosses Racine ( I checked mapquest and here's the link).

I can't imagine why you would think you were being cheeky by asking me to do something I love to do so much! Besides, we've been through so much together..football, "dusting" mother in laws...come on girl..get with it! Dancing

My friend is delighted and asked to pass on his thanks! He knew his grandfathers four sisters emigrated to the States, but had no idea what their married names were. I was looking earlier after you told us about the free immigration records. I found a likely manifest with a husbands name, and wife listed by her maiden name - and thanks to you I think it may very well be the right person! He knew they lived on Racine Something in Chicago from the 1920s to the 1950s, but that was about it.

Thank you Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
