Until we get a fashion category I am sticking this topic here.

What color lipstick do you wear ladies? Do you switch or have a tried and true old favorite?

I prefer really light shades. One of my favorites, Honey gloss is a color I first tried and loved back in 1982!! Yep, and Clinique still makes it. Went out yesterday with my daughter and bought another tube of it and tried several other colors while I was there. I wound up with a tube of Orchid Shimmer as well.
Peach shades have been my favorite since high school. I sent two e-mails to Max Factor to see if they'd revive the Frosted Peach shade I wore for several years. They have no plans to issue it ever!
I also like the shade called Peach Daiquiri by Avon. They have good lipstick at a great price.

I like rose colors--no pun intended Rose!!!--and sort of a tawny color--not as dark as rust [which I used to love in my 20's!] but a tanny beigy shade beacuse it's so neutual. I like the shine of lip gloss but it never stay one and I always seem to have a strand of hair that whips into it. Not attractive.
I still also love a nice classic red for night time when we're going out. I think I'm getting a little long in the tooth for it but it still looks grat with black clothing. A bit dramatic I guess though huh? Sounds very Vampire like the way I'm describing it here! Twisted Evil

Lipstick? RED is my favourite and has always been my fave. My sister and I fought on the day of my wedding because she wouldn't let me wear it... she said 'it wasn't appriopriate" so I wore a pink shade (but if I had to do it again I would still wear red, that's just me).

I now match my lipsticks to Go with my clothes (but they have to suit my complextion). I wear different shades of browns in the winter.

I have very dark skin. I'm asked if I'm Spanish almost once a day so the stronger colours work better on me.

I used to love makeup. My cousin once asked if I had shares in Lancome or if they sent me thank you letters. Now, I don't always have the time to put it on but I've found that a good skin care line is better to invest in. All the years I spent in the sun (this year I'm staying away) has done on number on my skin.

Rose, you're right. Avon have some great lipsticks!

Deb, you have great skin which can still wear red shades and the same goes for you Nuccia.

I use to tan the heck out of myself but have stayed away from it for about the last six years.

I always use a moisturizer under a very thin application of foundation. I really like Avon's Nurtura moisturizer and their foundation called Souffle in the color called bisque. It's like a pudding consistency and is very light. Just enough to even out skin tones. I rarely had blemishes and never get them now. I use three shades of eye shadows which I try to coordinate with clothes. I stay away from shades of blue and wear browns, olive and peach shadows. I use a black brown mascara by Maybelline (the one in the pink and lime colored tube). I read that many fashion models love this cheap mascara. I've used it for about 24 years now. I line underneath the eye with a dark navy blue pencil liner and use navy blue mascara on the lower lashes. I read that the navy color makes the whites of your eyes look whiter.

I love to wear fragrances and always apply it after my daily shower. I love Burberry Woman but I equally love the cheap fragrance called Skin. I have so many people ask me what I'm wearing and how good it smells. Another great fragrance is Fracas.

My mother use to work an expensive cosmetic line when she was younger. She said that in training classes they were taught that the cheap lines were made by the same companies that sell the expensive stuff in the same factories and was no better. She also said they were told their job was to convince the customer to buy the more expensive line of makeup.

Goganga, you are fortunate not to need anything more than a clean face when you go out. My daughter is like that too. Her skin is like flawless porcelain. She's extremely fair skinned and keeps out of the sun.

Rosie , thank you for the compliments but my skin has become very very dry due to this peri-menopausal buisness and pevious sun abuse! Now I constantly have to moisturize.
I like to use tawny color shadows but I rim my eyes in black--but not too harshly. It cold get scary--like my photo here--my eyes really don't look like that--it's just that my glasses have a bit of a tint and it photographs kind of freaky!I use Almay mascara because it doesn't bother my eyes when my contact lenses are in.
My new favorite fragrance is Vera Wang--I too always wear a fragrance!!

Goganga, you are very lucky indeed! Very Happy

What is the Vera Wang fragrance like? I'll have to go sample it at the store.

I love your glasses and realized they have a tint to them.

I use my moisturizer every day as well.

Also, I never use a face powder over my foundation because I think it gives the face a dry, older look.

Yes well things were too hectic on St Clair and my daughter was out at an amusement park with a neighbours family so I had to wait for her to come home..

She left the park at six and just got home (and its only 20 min away from here)...Can you image the mess here?

My Nanny just called me (hes a really good friend and ex neighbour who has helped me with my kids since I went back to work, God Bless Him)...

His mom had an attack at the celebration..the ambulance just arrived...

I'm really worried! Shes not in very good health to begin with...

Well... maybe I need something on my face, I'm not a teenager Brick wall , but I don't like it! I prefer my face clean. It is only my choice! (and I think it is healthy for the skin...)

I used a 'light' make up for years when at work.... but now, like goganga I prefer plain warm water then a final rinse with cold water.

I've always been careful what soap (if any) I used on my face, but for 'the rest' I like a PH5 soap....nothing too caustic.

For cleansing I like Nivea cleansing wipes - if needed.

Unfortunately my skin ins't what it used to be. Not talking
I feel compelled to "even" out the sort of blotchyness that has developed and I wish I didn't have to. I wear very sheer coverage though only when I'm out--out home?
Nada.
