Deb, I just found a great lip stick by Isadora called Lip Treat. It's a lip balm but the color in the pale metallic peachy-orange tube is more like a lipstick. There are several colors to choose from.

What's more it tastes delicious, just like peaches.

I got it at Walgreens.

Don't worry about that Deb. I know not everyone has time to look at our forum every day. Not only that, it's very easy to miss a post that is directed at you personally.

No I haven't, but Tropicana makes a peach/papaya drink that looks good.

I'd like to try the other colors too. I think there is a pinkish-rose shade. I wonder what it would taste like?

It goes on nicely and is not a gloss but has a wetter look.

By the way, I read that women our ages generally look best in rose shades of lipstick, so you see Deb, you are very fashionable.

Me too. I was gonna go out to the store and get the pink/rose shade but it's raining pretty hard right now. Maybe I'll wait and go later.

It comes in a wide, plastic mettalic color tube. I kid you not, it tastes really good for a lipstick.

Yup, rose shades are recommended for us. Except you look only about 40 and I don't think you're near my age Deb.

Deb, I tried the other rose-colored lipsticks. I'm bringing them back today. They look nothing like the color on the tube like the other one did.

I'm not that tiny Deb. All my weight is in my hips and butt.

You CAN lose weight when you put your mind and will to it. You can do it.

Give me your daily progress okay?

Hey Deb - just take it nice and slow or you'll just put it all back on again....

And Rose - weight loss (my 'Ouch' the other day) is a constant problem for me.... Over the last two years, guided by a qualified dietologist and my 'cardio' I've lost nearly 55lbs. I suffer terribly from water retention too, and among many other 'meds' I take three diuretics a day. This loss slowed drastically though when the arthritis began to set in last year, and using the excercise cycle I have became a problem. Then there was the 3 1/2 months of snow and icy roads where a walk was totally out of the question (and forbidden by the cardio). Now we have the heat and I'm under strict instructions to do as little as possible - and NO walking! But the diet is constant - yes there are times when I feel like chucking it all in....I get so 'cheesed off'! After all I gave up a 30 year (heavy) smoking habit 'literally 'overnight'. I can no longer 'have a few drinks' with friends. A treat is one brandy maybe once a year... I haven't tasted butter for two years, and I've eaten ONE baked potato (with no topping) in the last 28 months.....

I'm at a point at the moment where I'm losing very little - but the main thing is I'm NOT gaining any either.... Deb if you saw my dietary regime you'd die!

So as I said - just take your time...DON'T go on fad diets - they don't work!

Carole B.

Wow Carole--you sholud be VERY proud of yourself. I know it isn't easy to have to completley change your lifstyle. I had to give up smoking overnight becuas ei'd developed asthma from it which I still suffer from.
Two years ao I'd lost 35lbs. It took me 6 months to do it but I did it slowly and kept it off.

Then dad passed away and my one dogs died four months after him--then the other four months after him , then my Godfather got killed in a car accident two months after that!... well Carole knows the story--I became very very depressed --sat in and ate from depression. I don't know how I got myself to work. But I gained it all back and at the time didn't even notice it slowly creeping back on till the clothes didn't fit again. Well, I have worked through my depression pretty much but now I'm depressed because i gained all the weight back!
So nwo--I'm stsrting the whole darn thing all over again. But I know if I did it before I can do it again.

Thanks for you support Carole and Rosie--it means a lot. hug

Debra and Carole,

Don't be so hard on yourselves...I've come to the realization that there's something wrong with my closet, not me...the clothes fit when I put them in there but there must be something in there that causes them to shrink!

Congrats to both of you for quitting smoking...maybe someone can give me pointers. I tried and almost succeeded (about a month) and then the idiot started and a few other "things" and there I was back to lighting up.

Since posting here I've been more careful with my eating patterns again and have tried to drink lots more water and less coffee which is helping my skin again..I looked over my wedding pics and could really see the difference that age, stress and not taking good care of yourself made...going to take a jaccuzzi now and give myself a facial...I need a treat! Very Happy
