and found out that little dry red spot on my left cheek is pre-cancerous! Now I have to use a special cream on it and hope it kills it all in 6 weeks. I remember discussing with terry how the weather seems different and how easily I burn now enev with sunscreen.
I urge everyone--even all of the really young peope here to be cautious and use some kind of sun protection!!!

God, with this fair skin you'd think I was Irish instead of italian!

Yikes, what a scare that must be giving you Deb!! I hope everything will be okay and glad you noticed it and didn't ignore it.

My daughter Vicky is very fair and doesn't go out in the sun. I told her that those girls who make fun of her "ghostly, pale skin" will live to regret those trips to tanning salons when they look wrinkled at an early age.

One of the girls who use to be a life guard at our private pools here would lay out in the sun for hours. She was darkly tanned all year round. She's in her early thirties now and is so wrinkled looking. I saw her at the grocery store and wasn't surprised at the amount of sun damage to her skin. There was also another woman closer to my age who was sun-tanned year round. I notice she doesn't do that anymore but her skin looks very stretched and wrinkly. Yes, we all get some lines as we age but the amount of sun damage I'm seeing shouldn't occur that much in the age ranges that they are.

To everyone, guard your skin and that of your children. Those dark tans will come back to haunt you when you're older.

Thanks for your kind concern Rosie. Boy did it ever come back to haunt me and I am a bit frightened--i don't know how deep this is. Hoping it's just suface layer stuff.I really do think it'll be ok--just hope it doesn't come back!
Vicky is very wise Rose. To hell with those girls--they may have to pay a price in the end.One of the teachers that works with Joe keeps on tannig despite the fact that one of her eyelids is deformed from the removal of skin cancer!! What does it take to wake people up???

Saying a wee prayer for you Debra. The important word is PRE

That must have given you a fright as Rosie said. It is scary when your body starts doing things that you just don't expect it to. It makes you feel less in control, which is very uncomfortable. I'm sure it will be just fine. Sounds like you have caught it really early.

Keep smiling

Marisa xx

Hi Debra
I know how you must be feeling but its good that you didnt put off getting it checked out. I'm sure everything will be ok.
Try to keep positive, this sometimes works better than any medication.
As always you'll be in my prayers.

Love and hugs xx
God Bless
Emmy

Emmy, thank's so much.I am trying to keep positive as you said. I'm just so glad I didn't put it off.

More bad news--my father -in-law fell outside last night and broke his hip. He'll be 90 in November . They have to do surgery today!

Maybe you could say a few prayers for him?? I'd really appreciate it!!!

Oh Debra
It 'never seems to rain but it pours'.

I'll certainly say a prayer for your father-in-law.
It's a blessing he's not too far away from you.
Pray that everything goes ok with the surgery.
If you have time please let us know how he is.row

God Bless
Emmy

Emmy, thank you so much!
I pray his recovery is uneventful. I'm a bit nervous because after his hernia repair in April, he had a mild stroke. So I pray re-hab goes well!
