Yesterday, Tuesday 5th would heve been Freddie Mercury's 60th birthday... Brian May was arranging a party to celebrate this milestone and Freddie's mother and sister were invited.

I adored "Queen" and have all their music on cd's.... I llisten to itt often. Who could ever forget 'We are the Champions', Video Killed the Radio Star, I Want To Ride My Bicylce....and of course the song that was voted - World Wide as the most popular song of all time 'Bohemian Rhapsody......

Oh what memories... but what an era for music too...

Who were your favourites I wonder?

Boo hoo! serenata Band

I loved Freddie Mercury Carole--what a voice he had. I can't believe he would have been 60.

My favorite group ever was and still is, THE BEATLES!!!!"She loves you, yeah, yeah yeah!"

Also LOVE Eric Clapton--is he the best blues guitarist or what?

Applause Applause Applause

Also a big fan of George Michaels--love that silky, smooth voice.
"Cowboys and Angels" is my favorite of his.

When I first saw the topic I wondered who is Freddie Mercury? But then you said he sang in the group Queen.

I guess I really don't have any favorites but I do like the Beatles.

I can't believe Freddie would be 60 either!

'Fat Bottomed Girls' could have been written about me cry! But I think my favourite is 'Don't Stop Me Now'.

In the past yeras, rumors said that Dennis DeYoung was invited to join the Queen after Freddie death, because Dennis has a powerful, strong and warm voice similar to Freddie's one, but he refused.

You're welcome Debra!

He WAS in the band Styx, now he has a great solo career!
I've got his autograph winning an eBay auction, I'm proud of it! Next step will be to see him on stage... but it's very hard because he plays only in the USA... Brick wall

Yes how did you forget Aerosmith Debra!

I'll tell you, after Oct 2 I won't forget them...two more weeks and I'll be there. I love Queen and Zepplin...Boston too.

Don't shoot me but I really don't like the Beetles at all. Not sure why. Some of their music is ok..Hey Jude, She Loves You, Hard Days Night, all the old stuff.

Music in my house is a must. With a "Retro Rocker" Husband and 2 teenage boys it has to be. Funny, I was the "Disco Queen" (UGH) so how I ended up with him I'll never know...

Every weekend all I hear from the guys is "Quick...Name the band and the song"..enough to drive a person insane. We actually tried to get through on a radio show yesterday becasue no caller could guess the "song" and we all knew it so we had 4 phones dialing. We are definitely a "dsyfunctional" family...

Brick wall Brick wall Brick wall

I'm glad I was missed! Just read the posts and am catching up on all I missed. Its been a great week and an even better weekend. Been at Moms a lot and have gone out with my brother to help get things for the house. I bought new patio interlock as a "housewarming gift" and some new blinds. I have my eye on some great fabric and think I'd like to make new curtains. I can't believe I have time to sew again.

I spent yesterday baking a cake for Dad (he loves the Lemon Cake I make) and some muffins for the kids. Jen sliced her foot open Sat night and we thought she may have needed stitches. They all have colds. I wahed all the carpets and caught up on the laundry and housework. Completed all my paperwork and now I am sitting here relaxing...

And it feels great!
