Oh Terry I like Kate Beckinsale too...her father was a great comic actor, but he died young. Kate has done a lot of film and tv work in the UK and is very popular.

I like Dame Judi Dench too....She is not only a very fine dramatic actress but made a long running comedy series ('As time goes by') which ran from 1992-2005 and completed 67 episodes over 9 series! Her sense of timing in her comic roles is 'perfection'!

Hi Terry!
Wow-three very diverse actresses and all beauties in such a different way!

I'll go for who I love as an actress--[not hotties!]
I like Catherine Zeta Jones, Nicole Kidman, Emma Thompson, Cate Blanchet, Kate Winslet, Kate Beckansale [lots of Kates!] Joan Crawford, Audrey Hepburn--and my all time favorute Sophia Loren!!!

For actors? Hands down, Anthony Hopkins. He's da Man!! Applause

Hey Carole, great to see your photo up!!

Terry, I am impressed with the ladies you chose as "hotties." They aren't the usual run of the mill women you see in Hollywood today.

I'm looking forward to Kate Beckingsale's vampire movie which is a sequel to the first one.

Sorry guys but I like horror movies with really scarey-looking monsters. The monster graphics in this movie look great from the promos I've seen.
I'm s Stephen King and Dean Koontz fan too. I'm trying to get a hold of the book called Guilty Pleasures but I keep forgetting who authored it. I know it's a woman but forgot her name. Anyone read this book and can tell me who the author is? I know...........just "google" it. Think

Wasn't that his best book ever Deb????? I read parts of it at night and it did scare the heck outta me!!

I passed it on to a friend at work who said she nearly jumped out of her skin reading it during a thunderstorm when the lights went out one night.

After that he started churning out too many books in one year and the quality was poor. Many of them were really silly too.

The first book his wife wrote was pretty good too but I can't remember the title of it.

I once read that all his books take place in Maine because that's where he's from.

Perhaps you'll think I should post this on the 'Jokes' thread, but every word is true - I swear. hysteric

I can't stand horror movies...I'm the 'original gold plated scaredy cat'!

In England years ago films were graded by their content, and horror films rated an 'X' certificate. You had to be 16yo to get in to see them. Well my 16th birthday had passed in early September (the dates here are relevant), but there were no 'X' rated films showing. The first one was on 1st October and it was 'Frankenstein's Monster'. So off I went with Mum and Dad - feeling very grown up to see it on the 1st, which was a fairly warm summer type day.
The film had been running for about half an hour and the cinema was very hot. I wasn't really enjoying this 'horror' type film - seemed a bit tame. But at one point Dr. Frankenstein was 'working' on the monster and was collecting new limbs and such for it. Then I saw a little bowl full of 'something' , leaned accross to my Mum and quietly asked 'Why's the Dr. got a bowl of baked beans in the laboratory'?. She leaned back and whispered -'Oh they're not baked beans dear - they're his 'brains'!!!!

I 'hit the deck' in an instant sick in a full faint. 'Came to' outside, sitting on the cinema steps with the cinema manager waving 'smelling salts' under my nose. He blamed my fainting on the heat in the cinema - it was the first day of having the heating on full after the summer. But I knew it was just the thought of brains in a bowl!

I've never seen another horror movie, or read a horror book - and that was over 49 years ago!

Yes Rose, that was his best work I feel! Our friend was readint it on his lunch break and someone tapped him on the shoulder and he threw the book clear into the air almost falling off his chair!
I know what you mean though---later on they seem to be turned out without much thought behind them. Did you read Cujo and Pet Cemetary?? I loved those also! I like Dean Koontz too.

Oh poor Carole!! I bet you can't look at a can of baked beans now!!! Very Happy Silenced

Terry, I think you already had it. Sometimes you just need to be around people who remind you what a great guy you are.

Carole, the only thing that creeps me out is the sight of blood. Last week when I fell and skidded across the sidewalk on my face I got home and looked in the mirror. I got so pale and near fainting from the sight of it that i had to sit down a while. It's pretty well healed except for some faint red spots and a nasty gash still healing on my wrist. Pass the baked beans and make sure you aren't downwind of me.

Almost time for the night walk.

God, that's horrible Rose...Glad the scars are healing. I'm very accident prone..or was until the made me head up the Safety Committee at work and now this is a big part of my job. Its made me more aware of things,,,even at home thanks to all the training and classes. Before this I had the most number of accidents in my store out of 400 or more associates Embarassed

Last week, a poor 81 year ols man fell outside in our parking lot at work and did some serious damage to his face above his right eye.. There was an enormous amount of blood. I was on my way home when I got the call to go out...honestly I don't know how I did it, I spent almost an hour with this man trying to do first aid and call 911..plus trying to keep the all by standers from touching anything. It took 911 almost 40 minutes to arrive..I had to call 2 times! I was furious.

The man was fine..we had a nice converstion about soccer and his kids (trying to keep him from going into shock) but the blood...I called in an outside company to clean it up. It is after all considered hazardous waste and therefore needs to be cleaned properly for everyones protection.

On that note...I just want to really remind everyone thaT SHOULD an injured person whose bleeding require help...do yourself a favour no matter what...don't touch the blood! I carry gloves in my purse all the time for emergency's...you can't be too careful these days.

It's really well-healed now except the wrist. You can see an indention at the injury site when I hold the arm at a certain angle. This was a deeper abrasion.

Thank God you were there for the old fellow Nuccia. I'm sure he was very grateful that you tended to him. You were his angel that day. Angel
