I'm glad that you are still in contact with Maria (from CT). I miss her posts on here, not only is she interesting, but lives and works close to where I live. The nuclear power plant where she works was built on the beach that my wife went to as a kid.
Thanks for the recipe. Similar to my families. I wonder if some of the differences are a result of the original ingredients either being impossible to find or too expensive. I know a lot of people that won't pay the price of a pound of Parma ham, but pay the same amount for two packs of cigarettes!!!

We didn't get back until late on Saturday so I wasn't on line until Sunday - Slug and I were on the couch watching anime until late, me dreaming of the visit with Missy and Shania
No word from my cousin about the Easter Pie - I will call her to see what she did.
I finally got around to sending three cousins some garlic = Connie already knew I was working on this but her sister Judi and our cousin Mary Ann are in for a surprise. Judi is in California and Connie in Florida so some garlic that was sprouting was included - they can just plant the clove and have their own.
Mary Ann lives in a NYC condo, so she got the non-sprouted variety. In a previous phone call she heard that I had given some to Connie and Judi and said she wished she had some. I wonder what the postman is going to think on delivery, not to mention the doorman. They are in closed plastic bags in mailing envelopes, but I could still detect aglio vapors.
Also sent two other 'cousins' documents about their grandmother - still haven't found their grandfather.
