HI!

I came across the link for here on another italian gene site and jumped on over, with goganga being VERY HELPFUL to get me registered - thank you!

For the time being, I am researching my sons fathers family (becoming a grandma to 2 little boys brought out the genealogy obsession in me I must admit!) and for the most part I have found they were based in Santa Flavia and Sant'Elia - so thank goodness, while hard to read a language I do not know, they seemed to like the area, making it easier to find clues on them and others, since they stayed in it for many generations!

And as with many other communes in Sicilia, I am sure they are all related through one branch or the other (I've already found that I have 2 duplicate parents where their children married cousins, most common I was told, so it makes a short tree!) - and another one of my ambitions is to learn enough of the language so as to teach my g'babies of their heritage. I am of norge/dansk ancestry, and have a program where we learn simple words (cat, table, etc) and I am determined to give them a taste of all that is within them!

Welcome to Amici TCULSEN it's so nice seeing a new member here and I know I'm speaking for the others we'll be looking forward to your posts.
I noticed you mentioned Sant'Elia is it by any chance Sant'Elia Fiumerapido in Frosinone or is it another Sant'Elia where your ancestors came from?
My grandparents came from Sant'Elia Fiumerapido in Frosinone and if it it the same one I have access to lots of information from that town.

I know 'Dave' who is a member here has links with another Sant'Elia but at the moment I cant remember which one. If he reads this he may be able to let you know if its the same Sant'Elia as yours.
Sorry but I only have infromation about the one in Frosinone.

Hello TCULSEN, welcome!
It has been a pleasure to help you to get registered. Like I told you, our forum is often attacked by some spammers and the only way to avoid their unpleasant posts is not get them registered. Not an easy task though...

I can't wait to read more about you and your ancestors. Feel free to start new topics!

And if you need help to learn some Italian, I'd be glad to help you: I was born and live in Italy. Wink

Again, welcome to Amici Over the Ocean forum!

Welcome to our group
