Can you believe it we're already into the 3rd month of 2011.
Our weather has been a bit better the past few days in fact the sun was shining and it even felt 'warm' outside. My magnolia bush already has lots of catkins on it and will flower soon I cant believe it has survived that awful weather we had when i've lost lots of plants that are supposed to be much more 'hardy' than the magnolia.
How is it with you all? As they say if March comes in like a lamb it goes out like a lion- vica/versa So if the weather keeps like this just now seems we may well be suffering at the end of the month!!

Well... it's cold and windy here. d'oh!
Yesterday I went to Genoa airport to pick Nuccia's son up (he's here!) and it was snowing... the first thing he said was: "It's cold here! I think to be back in Toronto!". He's thought it were warmer here..! Shame on you
We're having fun. I'm forced to speak English because he does not understand Italian and he's forced to listen to my broken English! Poor boy!!! Dancing

Emmy, I really hope that next time it will be Nuccia!

We're having a good time because he loves shopping, loves soccer, likes to eat pizza... There are many "pizzerie" next to my house, so.... I don't need to cook, because he said he does not mind to eat pizza for breakfast, lunch and dinner...
I'm kidding! Sometimes I try to cook, but I'm not worried: he does know I can't cook, because he has been warned already!

As for my English, I think that to be "forced" to speak it, is helping me a lot to improve it. He understands me and I can understand him. He's also trying to learn some Italian with good results Very Happy Also, he can understand us while we speak Italian.

Guess this holiday is going to be a learning curve for all of you. Glad you're having a nice time. How long is he there for?

He has been here up to yesterday. Now he's in La Spezia and then he's going to Calabria and Rome. After that, he will come back here for a couple of days and then will leave for Toronto.

Too bad he's been sick when he was here, he had cough and a cold, so he stayed at home a couple of days because he did not feel good enough to go out.
But now he's better. I phoned him today and he said he's having good time to La Spezia. Dancing

Louis LOVED staying at Simy's house. He said he could see them being roommates because they get on so well. He did go to La Spezia, Portavenere,Locri, Reggio Calabria, Guardavalle and Catanzaro. On Thursday he will be in Rome and them back to Simy's.

He's a bit overwhelmed with the whole family thing - and most of my family are afraid to let him go out by himself which he can't understand but otherwise he's having a good time.

He insists that I go with him the next time but I won't leave the other kids so he's decided to pay for one of their flights if I pay the other ones. Hopefully I can save the money to go but I can't see it being this year like he would like (he wants to go for August).

Simy you'll be here in September, no? Think

Funny about the family worrying about a male. I know they worried about my daughter when she looked up and visited family in Naples. Is Louis around Simy's age or younger?

No, Louis is 20 - but he has always gotten along well with Simy. I guess he feels comfortable because she has been here a few times and she speaks English. She also seems to understands and like some of the things he does - music, movies, etc.

Gil I would worry about any one go through Naples alone! I'm already concerned Louis will be in Rome most of the time alone. My husband and I almost got mugged there by a group of gypsy kids when we were on our honeymoon.

When we were in Rome we were hounded continuously by gypsy kids selling these stupid flowers.
