Hi everyone
know what I'm doing today???

Making home made chocolates with thick double cream and Belgian chocolate
and a wee dash of brandy in the mixture.

Taking the easy way out this year I'm just going to dust them with chocolate powder and some with vermicelli chocolate.

and you'll never believe this, but its true, I'm giving them ALL away to the family--
Guess I'll deserve a star for that!! because I certainly will be Drool Drool Drool

Believe me there was a real mess to clean up when I was finished and so far I've resisted but when coating the choclates I had an idea I knew there were some 'after eight chocolate dinner mints in a box' so I thought because I didnt have any more chocolate to coat the sweets I'd try to melt the after dinner mints d'oh! d'oh! d'oh! bad idea!!! now instead of having about 10 lovely thin chocolate after dinner mints all I have is a large blob of a mixture I cant describe but I know what it does remind me of Think guess it wouldnt be very nice to print my thoughts especially when this is a recipe index Dancing Dancing Dancing Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I made 98 chocolates and believe it or not there are still 98 chocolates in the refridgerator-- true!!

But I did taste what I made today I had it on the soda bread I made yesterday-I made butter with the cream that was left over and now from that I have more buttermilk so I guess I'll have to make some scones to use that up now!! I'll have to give them away too Silenced

My stomach would have been a better place for them to melt too Very Happy but I used the microwave it works with the ordinary chocolate but its obvious it didnt like after eight dinner mints!!

Only 6 left now in the fridge and I can tell you I'm tempted but I have promised them to a friend who is visiting tomorrow Angel
Would be great if it was possible just to 'beam' them across. Cant even send them to France to the grandchildren because once they're made they have to be kept in the fridge d'oh!
But last night I was naughty. I just had to try out this recipe so so easy no mixing of ingredients at all not even weighing anything. I had bought a pkt of ready rolled shortcrust pastry and I just had to put it on a baking tray and pop it in the oven for 20 minutes then spread it with Carnation caramel (from a tin) then drizzled it with melted chocolate. I did have a taste YumYum!! Now this is one thing that will have to be given away VERY QUICKLY or I know where this will be going!! Silenced Silenced Silenced

Tomorrow I'm going to be extremly naughty again.
I'm going to make some more chocolates and this time I'm definately going to have a few!! Over the last few weeks I've felt cheated#-o

AND as I'm just as well being hung for a sheep as a lamb I'm going to make some more of the ones with the shortcrust pastry ,caramel and chocolate topping and YES I'm going to have some of that too.

I'll just have to make sure none of my family come to visit and catch me in the act of sampling the goods Dancing

I think someone is having a curse on me at the moment because so many things happend I didnt get the chocolates or the cakes made and after what happened on Firday night has postponed it even further -will explain the reason why in another forum index.
