I've just received the two Braeburn apple trees I had ordered and meantime I've planted them in tubs until I make up my mind just where I'm going to put them. It says on the label that they should give fruit this year but I find that hard to believe when at the moment they dont even have any leaves -just buds.? Instructions says they do need lots and lots of water - I think someone up above must have read the instructions and has been helping me out re the watering Applause Its gone much cooler here again and very wet the past few days but at least I dont need to take the hose out-- one job less.

Good luck with your new trees! Funny how the weather here has gotten cold and rainy over here the past few days. I just read that Italy is having record heat from Milan to Palermo. Go figure?

Maybe the person up above can't wait to eat some apples!

Well it seems until the spring time I'm not going to get much use out of my conservatory. At the moment apart from all the other plants I have in there I now have a fig tree, an olive tree,3 lemon trees and two orange trees thank goodness they're not fully grown yet!! my son brought them into the conservatory for me the other day because we've already had ground frost on a couple of mornings and because my green house doesnt have heating and I lost some plants last year we thought this was the best option. He also planted my two new apples trees into the ground instead of keeping them in the tubs and they're looking good and I wont have to worry about them now.
I've also been collecting the seed heads and storing seeds for next year- just hope I remember where they are when next springtime comes around!!
but I'm having fun! I can sort out all the seeds when I'm sitting down watching tv.
