That was a nice thing to do re the 'cardinal' on your mum's grave stone.
I'm glad I did that on ours. Next time I'm up at the cemetry I'll take a picture of it.
We dont get humming birds here wish we did. What do you put in the feeder? For some reason, I dont know why, but in my mind there is a recollection that they fed on a 'nectar' (sugary syrup) but it may be you need special seed like I have to put out for the goldfinches (niger seeds)and the greenfinches--must say those finches have very expensive tastes the niger seed is almost 3 times the price of the normal wild bird seed. I also get a special 'songbird mixture for the robins etc.
My neighbour has a bird feeding station like mine and when they go off on holiday I think all 'her regulars' come to me while they're away-(I DO notice a difference on how often I have to fill up the feeders when they are away)
Havent seen the collared doves for a few days (must know I was wanting to take their photograph)but now I have a family of wood pigeons coming its facinating to watch them
drinking they seem to keep their beak in the water all the time until they have had enough to drink whereas the other small birds just takes 'sips' at a time.
Must label the pigeons as 'Heavy Drinkers' Good job its just 'Adams Wine' I put out for them to drink
