Two days on the trot!!
I had Bengy at the vets on Thursday (yesterday)and he had to go back again today.
Yesterday the vet gave him a thorough examination, he prodded, pulled, twisted this and that, opened Bengys mouth etc etc I think he must have moved every muscle in Bengy's body and the little 'monkey' didnt even give a squeak yet when I got him home and lifted him outside the first thing he did was 'yelp! just like a squeal as though he was in pain.

But Bengy is really unwell at the moment the vet told me his thyroid results were very very low and this could be a sign that something else is 'going on' From other symptoms that Bengy has had the vet is now thinking it perhaps could be Cushons disease(Not sure of the spelling here) Good point is it can be treated bad point- it cant be cured. So I had to take Bengy back today and leave him for 2hours so the vet could do other blood tests etc and it will be at least a week before I get the results. Meantime vet has given me pain relief medication for Bengy (think I need to try some of it too Think Very Happy ) Dont mention secure medication bottles to me --- it took me almost 20 minutes to get the dashed bottle open then when I finally got the top open I just about needed a magnigying glass to see the callibrations on the syringe. vet said it would be easier to put it on Bengys food so I had to stand guard to make sure Gizzy didnt steal any of Bengy's 'doctored ' food. Talk about living in a 'crazy house' just come and visit me!!

Today it was a lovely day so while Bengy was at the vets I decided to go and have a look at some of the shops-- (today I had to take the dog to the vets main practice which is in another nearbye village) I found a shop which was just like an Allandins cave,(not a big store just an ordinary shop with lots of space) you name anything and it was there. so I spent most of my time there wandering around and picking up a few bits and pieces. (one thing I bought was a fridge magnet that said 'You can touch the dust but dont write in it!)then when I came out there was a fish/chip shop nearbye so I treated myself to a 'fish supper' and then went and sat in my car and had myself a 'picnic' ---Yummy!!!! (Another 3" on my waist line ? )

Now I'll have to wait for Bengy's results fingers crossed they'll come back soon.

My former neighbor's dog had Cushing's disease too Emmy. I don't know too much about it but Toby did live a long time after it was diagnosed.

I'm sure Bengy will be just fine under your gentle, loving care.

Bengy seems more mobile today and he's gone down the steps at the conservatory door on his own guess that pain relief medication is working for him.
(Must find out if I can get a larger bottle of that medication and a much bigger syringe and I'll have a go too-- one BIG problem though I recall the dog had to be weighed to work out the amount he should be given ---Taking that into consideration I guess I'd need to get a bottle containing a litre or more Think Anxious d'oh! d'oh! Whistle

Here's the sayings on the other magnets I bought --(I know you'll be thinking - 'she's away with the fairies'
- but it gives my friends a laugh when they visit-that's my excuse for buying them and I'm saying no more Silenced Silenced Silenced Dancing Dancing Dancing )

'Stress is when your tummy says no way and your mouth says no problem'

'A clean house is a sign of a wasted life'

'Dust testing in progress. Do not disturb the samples'
(like this one an excellent excuse especially when the sun is shining)- laughing)

I bought this one for my friend's husband's birthday just for a laugh.
'When in doubt add more wine'

I love them all, especially the 'dust testing' and the 'add more wine'.

I like the one about the clean house. I used to be a fanatic keeping this place clean and neat even with small children. People would ask me, "do you clean all day?"

Now that I have a part time job a few days a week I'm just realizing there are more important things than being a fanatical housekeeper. Applause

.Glad you feel that way now Rosie life is too short so enjoy yourself when you can.

Well I guess all my friends know me by now and they know they are very welcome to call in at any time but they have be well warned that they have to take me how they find me.
I think I must be the most untidy person in the universe, especially when doing my craft work and painting etc. I take things out and if I get sidetracked I decide just to leave the things out to do it later so I guess I can never say everything is in its right place Think Silenced d'oh!
What makes it worse I dont like throwing anything out I always think I'll find a use for it later but the problem is when later comes and I can use it I cant remember where I put it Whistle Whistle Whistle Think Think Think
But there are definately more important things in life than a perfect house with nothing out of place and I say if they are my true friends then they come to see me not my house and if they only come to see my house and what's in it then I'm afraid they will leave disappointed.
(Off the soap box now Angel Angel Angel )
