Something new to me. I'll have to ask my sisters or maybe Dave knows what your pasta is called.

Happy Belated Mother's Day, Emmy...
Can you tell why that date was chosen? Then I have to find out why ours was chosen too.

I don't think we had zeppole around here very much - my dictionary says zeppo means "chock full" so that is fitting. And a Marx brother too. Most of the time, we kids just ate any dessert that came along and did not know the names. And zappa means 'hoe' so Dweezil, Ahmed, and Moon Unit Hoe.

I'll have to ask my mother about the pasta - she knows about different dishes from other areas of Italy because of in-laws like my Sicilian grandfather, or her mother-in-law from Puglia. And then there are the ladies from church.

I wondered how much of your Italian heritage was passed down there. Our city has different sections and churches for Polish, Ukrainian, Russian etc and there is food being made in each advertised - all delicious. Our neighbors brought over some kapusta - very good - sent some over to my cousin Stan, whose father was Polish. High marks from him.

Have to go downstairs and get the cat food dishes from the porch - maybe the possum has already taken care of the leftovers but still have to clean them for tomorrow. And check on each to see where they are sleeping.

Good night

Dave I have no idea why that date was chosen - sometimes I think they have created all those special days to help the shopkeepers boost their sales.

For me I feel every day is Mother's day when I think about my family and my grandchildren and sometimes I wish we had had even more children.
Although we had only 4 children over the years I've definately had many other additions to our family -- animal wise that is!! Dancing Dancing Dancing Dancing

I wish I would've had more children too Emmy. At that time I thought, well, I've got a healthy boy and girl, two is good. When I was 45 I decided I wanted one more. Even though everything checked out fine the doctor talked me out of it. I'm not sure if he was right in doing this.

Rosie they say there are more risks involved having children when you are older but in life no matter what we do there will always be an element of risk in it.

My mum was 44/45 when I was born (17 years after the sister next to me Dancing Dancing Dancing )

(and I'm glad I was born --Yahoo

and I think they are too.PuppyKisses PuppyKisses

Yahoo Yahoo And I'm even more glad now that I wast born earlier -just think how old that would have made me now!!

Big big hug Big big hug Big big hug

Thank you Gil that was a lovely thing to say.

I'm sure glad you were all 'born too because even although we've never 'met' I feel we've all become really special friends.

I'm glad you were born too, Emmy.

I'm hoping this posts because I'm still having trouble. Every time I log in here it asks me to register. I tried to make a post earlier but it wouldn't let me, so if you don't see me around much it's only because of the tech difficulties.
