Beautiful Emmy!!

My friend Laurel makes all her own cards. I'm always getting one for something or other. She invested quite a bit of money for card making materials.

This is another one I made last night.

This one is done in 3D (decoupage) but it doesnt really show up when you scan the card.

(I added 'Les Herisson' (French meaning hedgehog just for a laugh but I'm not sure if the 'Les' is correct)

Yes Rosie this can be an expensive hobby - I know all about that and I could stock a shop with the materials I have Think but I also have my knitting machines as well and enough wool to keep me busy for years not forgetting to mention all my painting materials d'oh! d'oh! d'oh! d'oh!
BUT I dont smoke, dont drink alchohol, and now I dont eat many chocolates (hope this lasts Silenced ) not that I'm trying to justify what I do spend on my hobbies so long as I dont put myself into debt and at least when I do sell anything any profit I make I give to charities. The charity I'm giving to at the moment is Hospices but I try to give each charity I think deserves help a turn.
I'm not much of a business woman though because I think it says you dont start to make any profit until all your expenses have been paid but I dont take that into consideration because if I did I would be dead and buried before that 's every likely to happen Big Laugh Big Laugh

Rosie I have very many of those senior moments. (Just didnt know if I had the correct French vocabulary LES??)
But I've decided to stop worrying about them Dancing Dancing

I love hedgehogs too I often have them in my garden (wild ones)and they do eat dog/cat food. Many people think that they should be given bread and milk but that's not good for them and gives them tummy upsets. One thing for certain though they do have lots of fleas d'oh! d'oh! d'oh!

I found one in my garden a while ago during the daytime and it was kinda shaking when it was moving so I phoned our RSPCA (Royal Society for the prevention of cruelty to animals)and they came and collected it I was told it was definately ill, (normally they wont come out during the daytime) it was underweight too so I was told it would be taken to an animal sanctuary and when it was OK would be let out into the wild again.

That was a kind and smart thing for you to do Emmy. I would imagine that hedgehogs do have a lot of fleas being outdoors all the time. It's one of many reasons I won't let my two girls out.

Here are some of the photographs of the wild hedgehogs that have visited my garden and two that visited my daughter's garden in France just recently.

photographs of the one in the cage : this is where I kept the one that was ill until the RSPCA collected it.

There's a story attached to the dishes my animals ate from Gil.
We have a programme here on tV called Antiques Roadshow and people take in various objects to have them valued.
One day I was watching this prog. with a neighbour when a lady appeared on the TV with some china to be valued -( right at this moment I cant remember the manufacturers name) but suddenly I sat up and shouted I've got some of those plates my neighbour said 'Where are the plates, let's have a look?!'
Oh! I replied some of them are out the back in the rabbit's hutch and there are some others out in the garden with water in them for the birds.
I just couldnt repeat what she said.
Yes the hedgehogs were treated to 5 star hotel treatment but I didnt bother adding a silver fork and knife dont think that would have been of much use to it Dancing Dancing
Anyhow I didnt have a complete set of the china but it seemed each plate was valued separately- anyhow it was just a plate and it looked nice on the grass and Mr hedgehog and my rabbits did take great care of the china and didnt break any!! I've still got the plates but please dont ask me where they are now - (cant remember if I left any of them in beside the ferrets after they had been on holiday with me)

Emmy, we have Antiques Roadshow here too. My son would have you laughing like crazy when he imitated a British fellow that brought in his painting to be valued on the show.

I love the hedgehog pictures. I can't wait to show them to Robert. When he was a little boy he loved a cartoon show on TV called Sonic the Hedgehog. It also became a popular vidoe game, although Sonic barely resembled a true hedgehog.

Is this him?
Emmy

ps I've just noticed in the photographs of the hedgehogs the French ones seem to be a shade lighter in colour (perhaps its caused by the camera or the daylight?.)
