Actually Simy its true what you have said and I think Italian cooking is much healthier I use virgin olive oil all the time even if I'm frying Chips /Eggs/Bacon etc. I never use fat or lard when cooking.
I do use butter when baking and a tiny bit lard when baking bread.
And although I have been overweight for most of my adult life my cholestral
(Spelling?)has always been OK and other people I know who are not overweight (and I know they definately dont use olive oil) have to get medication because their cholestral levels are very high.
If only I could stop baking goodies for the grandchildren and stop going near the shelves in the supermarket that has the chocolate and sweets
But I've been VERY GOOD lately.
