Hi Nicola
Glad you've joined us at Amici. Welcome to our group Big big hug

Now please dont forget the favour I asked you - you have to take my place here by posting and answering posts while and AFTER I'm back from my holidays. This will keep you busy and give you a laugh and stop you biting your nails waiting for news from Riccardo.

Have at look at the Forum index and there's lots of suggestions what and where you can post a message.
I'll look forward to you posting at least Think Think two new posts to begin with Big Laugh

hug hug hug hug hug

Love xx Emmy

Thank You Thank You Thank You

(Sorry edited this because I had posted it again by mistake but decided to leave it so Nicola could read it twice Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy )

Sorry, I have male friends in Italy and an uncle in the USA named Nicola. Again, welcome to Amici. Too bad I can't edit my response(s) above.

Eh? Gil, you're not alone... I've also thought that Nicola was a male...

Applause Applause Applause Applause
Maybe I'll have a word with Nicola and tell her that on Italian web sites people would probably think she was a man because of the spelling

I've just realised !!!!!my neice has a son named Nicola and and I always put an 'O'at the end of his name when sending birthday cards etc because I thought it was a typing error she had made Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

Guess nobody is perfect d'oh! d'oh!

That's for sure! In Italy the name Nicola is only a male name...

That makes sense, because generally Italian men's name end with an "O", except for a few ones, like Nicola and Andrea.

I must be really silly in my assumtions about all males names ending in 'o'
One of my own sons is named Andrea Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

Which I think proves what happens when you get (NO I'm not goimg to say older)youself to do too many things at the one time Liar Liar Liar

The Father of one of my friends, the same age as me, said that getting older is better than the alternative!

Fixed typo.

That's certainly true Applause Applause Applause Applause
There's a saying here 'Why complain about growing old when so many are denied the pleasure'

Anyhow I certainly DONT look my age Whistle Whistle Whistle Whistle Whistle ????
I was in a store once buying some things for the house and on a Tuesday
OAP (anyone over 65) gets a 10percent discount when they hand over their store card for this discount. I was there with a friend (my next door neighbour who was in her 80's
The girl looked at me and said 'Sorry you need to be over 65 before you qualify for the discount' my friend started to laugh out loud and asked the girl how old she thought I was. The girl looked a bit confused and replied ? maybe about 50?
I didnt know whether to sorry and leave without taking the discount or show her proof of my d.of.b. On the other hand maybe the shop assistant needed new spectacles. But it did make me feel good for a while until I got home and looked in the mirror.
But my new bathing costume certainly does wonders for me!! Very Happy

Emmy
