I noticed this report about Paris Hilton's pending release next Tuesday.
Really 'riveting' stuff yawn

I also read that there are no major networks looking to interview her (shame) when she's released. Sorry, but I'm trying not to laugh here..... How long will they really be able to resisst creating another media circus around this selfish and totally irresponsible young woman? She should have been made to do community service like Naomi Campbell and Boy George instead of languishing in a sigle room in the prison hospital for the duration!

Yet if we are to believe all the 'media hype' of three weeks ago then she will come out of prison like a new woman - a woman akin to Mother Theresa according to HER. And if we believe that................ Boo hoo! :

I agree with you. Community service can be most useful than the prison for "capricious" people like she's.

Paris Hilton is a pathetic spoiled little tart.

I simply cannot understand all the media hype around her.

She should be ashamed of herself.

Man..I couldn't agree with you more. I don't care who you are...you screw up and you should pay for it like everyone else. You were old enough to get yourself in this mess then you can pull yourself out..calling for your mother like a five year old! Really!!! Speak to the hand

You better believe it Rosie!

I saw her picture on the front page this morning again (or was it yesterday)..regardless, I never bought the paper. I refuse to read an article with her in it!

Absolutely no class..

Never liked her.

Still sick of her.

It's a sad statement on American culture and priorities - if you're rich enough and have the right connections, you can have anything you want, bypass the law, get special treatment, and if you sneeze, it makes the news.

Reminds me of our "beloved" mayor yesterday spending 15 hours in line to buy a brand new iPhone for $640 -- our murder rate, failing schools, and business situation, and the mayor is sitting in line on a work day for an iPhone while many Philadelphians can't afford food or housing. But he was surprised at the criticism levied against him. Same with Paris Hilton - she gets released from jail early, shame on her, and shame on all those cheering for her. Oh boo hoo, poor little rich girl got sent to jail because she drove drunk. Lucky for her she didn't kill anyone while dwi - many aren't so lucky.

Kudos to the papers who chose not to give more coverage to this rich brat.

Sad about Paris Hilton, I blame society and her parents more for enabling/creating her celebrity than the woman herself. When I read about her in the news, I am more disgusted with the people that made her into the celebrity she is today than her childlike irresponsible actions.

Who is to say if we weren't raised with her advantages and lack of discipline we wouldn't turn out just like her.

Doris Duke, Barbara Hutton and Gloria Vanderbilt are examples of past "Paris Hilton's" they were mighty racy "putanas" in their day (based on the norms at that time)

Good point. In a way, she is a product of American pop culture. We've got tons of them. Some are more flamboyant or spin out more wildly than others. People like Angelina Jolie (sp?) turned out differently, but they say her mother was a heavy influence -- and a good one. Brings up the whole "nature vs. nurture" debate again, huh? Think

Too many youngsters these days are spoiled rotten by their parents. Parents that if they have more money than sense (as it seems is the case with the Hiltons), use that money to ensure NOT that their child is able to appreciate the value of it ...OR to ensure that their child knows the difference between 'right' and 'wrong'.

No in fact, it seems to me that the overabundance of money is the parents key to ensuring that their child is kept/keeps out of THEIR way and leaves THEM to carry on as they please.

Then they and their offspring 'bleat' about how cruel society is to them...

O PULEEEEEZE - THEY SHOULD JUST GET A LIFE AND TRY AND SURVIVE LIKE THOSE POOR S*DS WHO HAVE LESS THAT $5 A DAY TO LIVE ON.

WHEN THEY CAN DO THAT - THEN 'MAYBE' I'LL RESPECT THEM!
